Judging the quality of edge banding

1. Check the hue and surface roughness of the edge banding. The color of the surface of a good edge banding is also very important. Is the color close to and brighter than the customized product? If the surface is very rough and has traces, the quality is definitely not very good. This is the surface quality problem of the edge banding. It has little to do with the quality of the inner material of the edge banding. It mainly depends on the production process of the edge banding factory and the production technology skills of the employees. A good edge banding is: the surface must be smooth, with no or very few bubbles, no or very few traces, moderate gloss, and not too bright or too matte (unless there are special requirements).

 

2. Check the flatness of the surface and bottom of the edge banding, and whether the thickness is uniform. Otherwise, the glue line at the junction of the edge banding and the board is too eye-catching or the gap between the board and the edge banding is too large, affecting the overall beauty. Details determine success or failure. Often a small detail problem may bring an embarrassing situation of poor overall effect.

 

3. Whether the edge banding and trimming are whitish, whether the surface of the bending edge banding strip is seriously whitish, and whether the base color of the edge banding strip trimming is close to the surface color of the difficult board. PVC edge banding strips are mainly made of PVC, calcium carbonate and additives. If the calcium carbonate content is too high, the edge banding and bending will turn white, which proves that the quality of this type of product is poor.

 

4. Whether the strength is good and whether it is elastic. High strength means good wear resistance and the corresponding quality is also better. Too high strength also means increased processing difficulty. Low elasticity means low wear resistance and low anti-aging ability. In addition, according to the actual production needs, manual trimming is generally required, which can be appropriately soft, and the automatic edge banding machine can be appropriately hard.

 

5. Whether the backing glue is applied evenly and whether it is easy to fall off from the board during use.
