China And Thailand Significantly Increase Rubber Wood Trade

From January to February 2024, the timber trade between China and Thailand reached US$178 million, a year-on-year increase of 56%; the quantity of timber imports increased by 52.5% to 729,300 cubic meters; except for a small amount of Thai exportable mahogany, rubber wood accounted for the total imports. More than 96% of the amount.

Among them, according to Chinese customs data, in the first two months of the first quarter, the total volume of rubber wood imported from Thailand exceeded 700,000 cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of nearly 53%; the average arrival price was US$244/cubic meter, which was the same year-on-year price.
